The short version
You can browse the whole site without telling us anything. We do not sell personal information, we run no advertising networks and no third party trackers, and there is no form standing between a couple and a venue's phone number.
If you email us
We keep your message and your email address in an ordinary mailbox, so we can reply and so there is a record of a correction or a removal request.
If you are a venue owner
Claiming or updating a listing means giving us a contact name, an email address and details about the venue. We use those to confirm you are connected to the venue and to keep the listing right. Contact details you give us for our own use are not published unless you ask for them to appear on the listing.
If your venue is listed
Listings are built from open mapping data, public registries and the venue's own published website. What we hold is business information: the venue name, where it is, how to reach it, what it offers, and a link. For a venue run by one person some of that may also be personal information, which is why the removal route below is open to anyone who asks.
Corrections and removal. Email us and we will correct a listing or take it down. You do not have to give a reason, and you do not need an account.
If you are just reading
We run our own analytics rather than a third party service. It records the page, the referring site, the country and the device type. There are no advertising pixels and no cross-site profiles. Cloudflare serves the traffic and keeps ordinary security logs. When you click through to a venue we count the click, so we can tell that venue how many couples we sent them.
Who else sees anything
Cloudflare, for hosting, database and security. Google Workspace, for our email. Nobody else. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
If you are in the UK or the EU
This site lists venues in several countries, so some of what we hold relates to people and businesses outside the United States. Our lawful basis for publishing business listing information is our legitimate interest in running a directory; for correspondence it is your having written to us. You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to erase it, or object to us holding it at all. Email us and we will act within 30 days.
Everyone else
Whichever country or state you are in, you can ask us what we hold, have it corrected, have it deleted, or have your venue removed. We give those rights to everyone who asks, and we will never charge you or give you a worse service for asking. Email us and we will act within 45 days.
How long we keep things
Listing data is kept while the listing is published. Correspondence is kept while it is useful. Removal requests are kept permanently, because that record is the only way to keep the promise not to list you again.
Children
This site is for people planning weddings. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
