This policy states what information we collect, why we collect it, and with whom it is shared, for each way you might use this site. If anything is unclear, contact us at the address in section 8 and we will answer.
1. Who this covers
This one policy covers everyone who uses this site:
- Couples who send an enquiry to a venue
- Venue owners who claim a listing
- Venues listed in our public directory
- Visitors who are reading the site
2. If you send an enquiry to a venue
What we collect: your name, your email address, your telephone number if you provide one, your event date and number of guests if you provide them, and the message you write.
Why: to deliver that enquiry to the venue you selected. That is the sole purpose of the form.
Who sees it: the venue you sent it to, and us, as the operator of the site. We do not sell this information, we do not use it to advertise to you, and we do not add you to any marketing list. The venue retains the written record of the enquiry, as any business would.
3. If you claim a listing
What we collect: your name, the venue name, your town and state, your email address, the venue’s website, and anything you write in the message box. Why: to confirm that you are connected to the venue and to correct the listing.
4. If your venue is listed in our directory
Where the listing comes from: public sources only. These are Overture Maps open business data, OpenStreetMap, and the contact details venues publish on their own websites.
What we hold: venue name, address, town and state, telephone number, website or Instagram page, map coordinates, capacity, and a published business email address where one was found.
This is business contact information, and it is the same information the business publishes about itself.
To correct or remove a listing: email us. We correct listings on request and we remove them on request. No reason is required.
5. If you are visiting the site
We operate a first-party analytics beacon of our own that records the page viewed, the referring site, the country, and the device type. There are no third-party advertising trackers, no advertising pixels, and no cross-site profiles anywhere on this site.
When you click through to a listed venue, we count the click, so that we can tell that venue how many couples we referred to them. Cloudflare serves the traffic and keeps standard security logs.
6. Who we share information with
- Cloudflare for hosting, database, and security
- Google Workspace for our email and for the photographs venue owners upload
Venues receive the enquiries addressed to them, as described in section 2. No one else receives personal information from us. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not license our data to list brokers or lead resellers.
7. Your choices
Whoever you are and wherever you live, you may ask us to:
- Stop contacting you
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct it
- Delete it, other than the records we are required to keep
- Remove your venue from the directory
Depending on your state, some of these are legal rights. We extend all of them to everyone who asks, in every state, without charge, and without any adverse effect on your service. Email us and we will act within 45 days.
Children. This site is intended for couples and venues. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes. If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
